Henry the Hessian
A
Unique Children's Book

Henry the mouse had no idea what was in store when he stowed away on a German ship headed to the American Revolution. He just knew it was something he had to do. Never in Henry’s wildest imagination could he have foretold the outcome of his adventure.

This story is a heart-warming, entertaining, and educational way to take a heavy subject, the American Revolution, and share it with children. The story is interpersed with fascinating “cheesy bits” about the little-known role the Hessians played in the American Revolution. Older children will enjoy learning the history, and parents can use it to explain the story to younger children.

Written by D.S. Green, with adorable illustrations by Hope Richardson Fahey.

Suitable for children 6-106. 36 pp. Hardback (8.5″x11″)  $18.99 at Barnes & Noble. ISBN-13: 9798765529324.

Author D. S. Green is an avid researcher of family and history. As a mother of 3, and grandmother of 6, “Henry the Hessian: A German Mouse in the American Revolution” began as a family story she felt destined to discover and pass to her grandchildren.

“I fell in love with ‘Henry’ as the story unfolded and found his character to be simply lovable, and so devoted to his friend Heinrich. What a great idea for the author to carry the many important facts of the American Revolution to the readers!”

Hope Richardson Fahey is a grandmother of 3 budding artists who have helped in her many book illustrations, offering their ‘children’s’ insight. She has several noted ancestors that were Patriots and served in this war, so the story has special meaning to her.

“With the editing and technical expertise of Stacy Ashmore Cole, and the delightful and talented artist-illustrator Hope Richardson Fahey, my words were brought to life to be shared with you too.” ~D.S. Green
